Firewalls and network security

Nominalia implements firewall systems, which means the set of access policies are updated and checked every day. The Nominalia network is designed to maintain the highest possible level of security.

Our clusters and technological platforms are hosted on a server farm designed according to the latest and most secure standards in the sector, to guarantee the utmost security and reliability. The exterior is protected by an outer casing in reinforced concrete with no windows for areas allocated as data rooms, warehouses, power centres or sensitive data secure rooms. CCTV camera presence detection system; emergency doors fitted with alarm and surveillance team present 24/7, able to activate requests for armed police assistance.

The interior of the building is controlled by CCTV cameras and access to the structures is protected by badge access and biometric digital fingerprint recognition systems.

The characteristics of our server farm:

• Floating floor designed to withstand a maximum load of 2500 kg/m2
• Automatic fire fighting system with chemical gas extinguisher (Inergen), operating in electrical continuity, using a system made up of a cylinder set per compartment, sized N+1.
• Electrical system rendered fully redundant on each floor of the Data Centre with automatic source switching.
• Two UPS systems in redundant parallel configuration (2 different suppliers and 2 different technologies) to prevent potential problems caused by production faults.
• Controlled temperature environment 24/7/365. Indoor temperatures are guaranteed in all conditions at between 20C° and 24C°: equipped with temperature sensors connected to the monitoring and alarm system.
• 6 diesel generators installed: 3 each of 2 MVA + 3 each of 3 MVA, with redundancy of 1N+1. Autonomy over 50 hours under full load. Refuelling guaranteed: within 4 hours of request.
• Network and server monitoring 24/7/365 via software.

Data protection

Each hosting solution is protected and filtered by gateway applications that enable users to execute scripts without compromising security of the http server and exploiting the full potential of our servers. The programs are run with authorisation of the user who is owner of the script. The scripts are also controlled by numerous check functions to prevent execution in the event that a check fails.
